Update, 7:02 p.m.: Storms were moving into the Omaha area shortly before 7 p.m.

Alysson Hoegg, a meterologist at AccuWeather Inc., The World-Herald's weather consultant, said the storms arriving in the Omaha metro had changed in their dynamic, away from supercells capable of spawning tornadoes and more toward a line that would produce heavy rain, wind and large hail.

The storms had reached Bellevue and swept around into Council Bluffs, where lightning is reported to have damaged a home.

Hoegg said the storms would be moving through the Omaha area over the next several hours.
