The casino magnate Sheldon G. Adelson told Donald J. Trump in a private meeting last week that he was willing to contribute more to help elect him than he has to any previous campaign, a sum that could exceed $100 million, according to two Republicans with direct knowledge of Mr. Adelson’s commitment.

As significant, Mr. Adelson, a billionaire based in Las Vegas, has decided that he will significantly scale back his giving to congressional Republicans and direct most of his contributions to groups dedicated to Mr. Trump’s campaign. The two Republicans familiar with Mr. Adelson’s plans spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

he, of all people, should know how inept Trump has been at actually running the businesses he bought.

4. You know, I doubt anyone's stupid enough to

believe Trump can be depended on in any way. Adelson has a great deal at stake, though. He is a criminal. He depends on the influence of Republican politicians not just for continued profiteering but to stay out of prison.

He's hardly the only billionaire/megamillionaire who operates beyond the law and finds it extremely important to keep the Democrats out of office. There are hundreds of them who have no intention of changing their ways, much less their lifestyle, and it would be very strange if The Donald didn't end up with all the donations he could need.

In a class all by himself, though, Charles Koch is literally a career criminal who takes pride in breaking the law and often. He once came perilously close to criminal charges, not for any of the deaths, poisoned water supplies, giant oil and gas leaks, etc., that he is responsible for, but for stealing over $30 million in oil from American Indian tribal lands. Fortunately for him, his friend ex- Oklahoma Senator Whats-his-face got rid of the liberal Democrat prosecutor who was trying to put him in prison and plugged in a well-connected Republican who made it all go away.
