(28,394 posts)What is a "type 2" fire? I understand if you don't have time to answer my question, though!

(8,702 posts)For the sake of simplicity there are four "types" of wildfires. From type 1 (most complex) to type 4 (least complex).
Complexity is determined by several concerns such as proximity to structures, cultural areas or sensitive or endangered habitat, size of fire, weather conditions and other factors.
In this case, though small, due to weather conditions and rate of spread, it was endangering citizens and structures.

(115,677 posts)I'm across the ferry here in WA, it's been so wet then so warm and dry. Lots of greenery grew fast, now drying out. There are doing a big clear-cut next to us this last month too. It's going to be another scary summer. Time to brush some around the house and down the driveway so we can get out if need be.
Hopefully a couple days of this light rain will help them some. But poor Oso, they've had a hell of a couple yrs.
