April breaks global temperature record, marking seven months of new highs

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/may/16/april-third-month-in-row-to-break-global-temperature-records
<snip>
Last month was the hottest April on record globally – the seventh month in a row that has broken the monthly record.

The latest figures smashed the previous record for April by the largest margin ever recorded.

It makes three months in a row that the monthly record has been broken by the largest margin ever, and seven months in a row that are at least 1C above the 1951-80 mean for that month. When the string of record-smashing months started in February, scientists began talking about a “climate emergency”.

Figures released by Nasa over the weekend show the global temperature of land and sea was 1.11C warmer in April than the average temperature for April during the period 1951-1980.

the energy needed would not be coal or nuclear powered. Clearly the perfect solution.

I'm sure it's nothing.

Yes, you can tell climate change is a HUUUUUGE deal that we're all going to have to deal with. That's why SO MANY companies are researching SeaSteading Technology, like....umm....erm....well, the SeaSteading Institute! Their web site...erm...uhhh...mentions global warming in passing. Because nothing, and I mean NOTHING motivates companies like "Captive market that literally no one can avoid it it's true", and that's clearly evident in the push for Seascaping Technologies.

Yeah, we definitely need to get on top of this.

I believe it stops at 1880 because that is as far as NWS has calibrated data.

Fucking Reagan!

I'm only being about half facetious...

Look at the chart of pay, union membership, middle class... practically everything started turning to shit in 1980.

I still read LTTE in local newspapers that claim Warming/Change is a hoax.

SMFH!

Carter had solar panels up on the whitehouse and goals to make America energy independent. First thing Raygun does is take the solar panels down.
Ramped up the War on drugs
Iran Contra
Ruined our renewable energy effort
Trickle down and the ruin of the middle class

Thanks Ronnie!

Global warming is a “hoax,” echoing the words of leading Senate climate skeptic Sen. Jim Inhofe.

Trump has mocked Obama for saying that climate change is the top global priority, especially as compared to Islamic terrorism and rogue nuclear states like Iran and North Korea.

Other countries, especially China, push global warming hysteria to cripple the U.S. economy and gain competitive advantage.

Trump has ridiculed Obama’s climate “deal” with China in which the U.S. cuts its CO2 emissions now while China gets away with a commitment to only possibly peak its emissions by 2030.

Trump bears no love for wind and solar energy. He has personally battled wind turbines being built near one of his golf courses in Scotland as “obsolete, ugly and expensive.” Trump has railed against the corruption and inefficiency of solar power.
