If you see something in society that is wrong and unfair. You can bet someone is making big bucks off of it.

Racism, Bigotry and Misogamy are very common among the uber rich. I think it must provide them with an economic advantage of some kind.

That Dick Cheney is a lying, treasonous war criminal, who authorized torture, and who will never be prosecuted, because the word Justice in Amerika is a punchline.

My hatred for ALL REPUBLICANS burns a little hotter today.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who are indifferent to the war on Iraq. I guess if it didn't dimpact them like it does to a veteran and their families then they don't care.

You gotta do what you gotta do in order to win the next election. Throw all scruples and morals aside.

And why I vehemently oppose Hillary's ascent to the White House. I have no doubt she'd be much, much worse on foreign policy. Dick Cheney/Kissinger/PNAC worse.

anyway. Read the Downing Street Papers. Resolution or not, Bush and Blair were prepared to create an emergency that would allow them to attack. One example spoken of was that the UK and US were flying in the no fly zones in Iraq. There was talk of blaming Iraq for trying to shot down a plane.

This is NOT to say that they should have voted for it, but explaining that the die was likely already cast long before the vote. As it was Democrats pushed for that vote and for going to the UN. In retrospect, though they were fundamentally right that a vote should be required, they might have been better off not fighting his using the terrorism (11/01) authorization - as oddly that vote has been used to hurt Democrats more often than Republicans or Democrats like Lieberman who were active proponents of war.

Not to mention, this was slightly more than a year after 9/11. If the Democrats banded together and would not vote for any resolution, the Republicans would have made it a voting issue -- and we would have lost many seats in both bodies that we would have great difficulty regaining. Not to mention, Bush himself described the IWR as 'not a vote for war" but as a vote to show solidarity with him in pushing negotiations to get inspectors back in and avoid war. It was taken in late October right before the 2002 elections.

As it was we lost the Senate that year and lost house seats.

Will we never learn. Democrats when we compromise we LOOSE! When we ran candidates that didnt support the ACA and President Obama we lost!

Every compromise with Republicans is a loss. No compromise got us more voters or more seats. STOP compromising with evil! Stand up! Do good. Say NO MORE WAR!
