Why using facts and sense has become uncool.
So now cherry picking data to show using fucking "Optimism", is going to take all the bad away?
More woo?
Maybe people complain because other people don't take the time to process data logically and systematically and instead, fall back on woo?
Maybe people complain because it is truly bad for people out there but it's better to sing kumbaya than actually address the issue frankly.
My brother and sister had to move back home with my mother because they couldn't find jobs to support them, so my mom who relies on a single soc. sec. check has to pinch even more.
Amazing that the media tells us the opposite:
http://money.cnn.com/2016/05/23/news/economy/us-full-employment-williams/index.html
So what's next?
We need the TTP, TTIP, for even more wonderful, beautiful, so happy your shitting rainbows employment?
The 2 most disliked presidential hopefuls are our only pick?
I'm so confused as to which to pick now. Optimism, Hope and Change, Burying my head in the sand? .....what to pick, choices, choices.
What's with the deluge of false logic this monday? It's everywhere.

(11,495 posts)You can't use facts to point out any wrong doing by Bernie bros. They go by their own rules. Kind of like this post in General Discussion instead of over on the DUP board where it belongs.

Simple, direct, concise.
Bernie is the real deal ... he walks the walk. The best politician I've had the privilege of voting for in my entire life. (Only to have Washington States super delegates dilute that vote immensely.)
Thinking of a Sanders presidency, I'm filled with optimism!

(20,582 posts)Millions all around the world are living with this same situation. The difference between those with vast wealth and those just not making it has never been greater. Yet your solution is to take care of your own. With what?? When jobs are being sent overseas, trade deals are cutting manufacturing and other employment, social programs are being cut back - how exactly are people supposed to make it, when all profits are siphoned upwards towards the corporations causing this?
LuvLoogie
(7,011 posts)That's a legitimate question when assessing options. Families help each other. Rather than being immobilized by the injustice of the world, do what you can. It's not heartless. He should help his Mom out.

(20,582 posts)millions who actually need political change to even have a chance of making it?
Best for each one of those millions to depend on a family member though, who may or may not be suffering just as much. Republicans and conservatives who hate any social programs (yet drive on the roads and use all those other gov't benefits) believe just as you do.

(5,621 posts)Reminds me of the thin people who rag on fat people and tell them to just go on a diet. If diets worked there wouldn't be a 20 billion dollar diet industry out there and people who still gain weight. Even 'The Biggest Loser' is apparently a scam.
Those that have it easy or got lucky, will always think that they really worked to where they are and the rest who are suffering just didn't work hard enough.

What if his Mom's house is big enough to house more people (empty nest), and his is a small place already filled to the max (he may have his own family to feed and house right now). You don't know.
What if he is helping financially. You don't know.
what if Phlem is under-employed and struggling himself. You don't know.
What if he lives in a place that is too far from potential "jobs" for his siblings?
What if he lives in a different state? It costs money to move.
You just assume he's letting his Mom handle this whole load, for no good reason. Come on Phlem, where are those bootstraps?
Damn republican thinking and blaming anyway.
LuvLoogie
(7,011 posts)He just told us he's been doing odd jobs for the last twenty years, so I get that he would not be of much financial help to his Mom and siblings. He could start asking around about what is available for them.
He can tell me what state they're in, their ages, their skill set and I'll send him some links. Maybe even some phone numbers.

I never said we were on the streets, I said she's trying to live on one Soc Sec. Check.
The other two are working fast food and helping with everything they can.
It was example in contrast to the bullshit being reported today.
Does that make everything better for you? I'm glad.
A fast food salary does not create a decent life, especially since Cost of Living is not being factored into pay anymore, you get that right?
Oh but you knew all that anyway.

(12,165 posts)I think it's just a word. I don't believe it means more than its meaning.
Obama delivered on his promise of hope and change. He didn't get everything done he wanted to accomplish, but there's a whole lot of good that came from his presidency.
A lot of people like (or love) Hillary. Just today I saw a man with a Hillary sticker on the back of his cell phone case. There's more support for her than there is for Bernie, if votes are any indication.

The out and Hillary's out. The nation's health insurance was about undermine our economy at the time he took office. He had to do something else it would have been ugly on his watch. So we got kludged together GOP plan whose costs are climbing yet again every year.
He tried and still trying to ram through the TPP which is going so much awesomely better than NAFTA.
He's also self confessed "new Democrat" and I'm sorry but the Thirdway and Neo liberals have brought nothing but misery. They are the economic equivalent of Republicans.
Sorry there's too many holes in your response. I'm not into politics for fucking love.
