Poll: Will the anti-Trump demonstations hurt or help Trump?

It seems anti-Trump street demonstrations are appearing wherever Trump travels to speak.
Do you think these will help or hurt Trump's Presidential race?

This will not affect his base. If anything, the white supremacists will just be more enthusiastic. Agnosticsherbet May 2016 #4

I agree but images of American flags being burned while Mexican flags fly high may bother some in the middle.

I don't like seeing flags being burned. Don't pick on an entire country when only a small minority has voted for Trump so far.

At first it looked to me that he was trying to whip up his own followers to serve the purpose, but then the anti-Trumps started showing up, and Trump was fine with that, since he got what he wanted regardless of who was supplying what he needed.

I think all this plays into Trump's hands and that he is, and will, use it to play off of, Trump did NOT want a no conflict, calm campaign.

It's a heavily Hispanic state, and he expected the protest he got.

but two things that help Trump:

1) Trump has been effective at getting disproportionate coverage and attention to the point where other candidates get all the air sucked out of the room. This is another ongoing storyline about Trump.

2)The issue becomes either taking the side of Trump or of an anonymous protester who may not be the best representative of the party. Trump v Clinton is superior to Trump v protester.

turns into all out mayhem, and the city gets torched...then Hillary will be toast, because it will all get hung around the Dem's neck...I personally think a better strategy is for the large peaceful protests, with speakers, and a hopeful message..much more effective than masked people, hurling projectiles, and fighting with cops.

Free media coverage, if things turn violent it allows them to just point while they claim to be right, easily frame the protests as anti-American, etc, etc. Seems like a net positive for his campaign, keeps his supporters fired up.

on the one hand, Trump seems to feed off the energy and so do his ardent supporters
on the other hand, someone who shows up to protest Trump is a visible voter lost to the GOP for this election cycle, and quite possibly their friends and family too

the police response to crack down on protests energizes a base which thrives on demonstrative repression of vocal minorities
at the same time, it shows many in the electorate that a Trump-run government would be unstable and repressive, which is still unpopular

so mixed bag, i think it's a wash.
