3 feet is too low. I am a little shocked that this enclosure has been around this long without something happening before now.

if all the humans watching had STFU instead of yelling like a bunch of panicked great apes. the silverback may (would?) have been much calmer.

But it might not have made any difference.

Harambe didn't follow the zookeeper's directive to leave the enclosure. He had something a lot more intriguing
than getting a carrot. I don't know how they would have gotten that kid out of there, though, even if Harambe wasn't
getting agitated by all the yelling/screaming. Apparently the zookeepers don't enter the enclosure, and if they had, Harambe might have seen that as a challenge.

Because he was clearly freaked by the non-stop screaming, like any ape would be (including me). Everything he did after standing the kid up in the pool could be seen as a reaction to that.

Screw these Animal Jails.

Could it have been possible Harambe would eventually respond to the zookeepers? Maybe even bring the child with him to leave the enclosure?
Once he was agitated, all bets were off on how he'd respond. Clearly he had the strength to kill or seriously harm the child, hurt someone who tried to
take the child away from him.

I dunno. Dian Fossey was most likely murdered by someone who opposed her work preventing these gorgeous animals from being taken by poachers in Africa.

was occurring once the gorilla took the child up the ladder to the land area. The moat activity was only a limited portion of the total time the child was in Harambe's control.

Those who observed tell us the boy's head was being banged on concrete as he was being dragged by Harambe. The child did suffer a concussion.
