Medical insurance companies screwing you over? Blame Obama and the ACA!!!

So I just got done hearing someone complain about their insurance company (non-exchange policy) turning down some procedure they need. As far as I can tell it's a legitimate procedure and the doctors are pushing for it. They are in the process of appealing the decision, so hopefully it will work out. What gets me is that instead of them seeing this as a clear sign that insurance companies do not care about their customers, they are instead blaming this on "Obamacare". Basically saying insurance companies are doing this because they have to make up the costs for treating those with preexisting conditions and for covering things they shouldn't have to cover. What makes this even pathetic is that I know these people had fights with their medical insurance well before the ACA came into effect. When I point that out they say that was because democrats didn't let competition across state lines, and how that would have made everything all better. When asked to further to explain that thought process, the conversation devolves into simplistic talking points about how people need to pay for their own health care. Which of course sidesteps the original topic of discussion.

There is literally no way to have a rational discussion with some of these people.

Oh one time I pointed out to these same people that if they totally repealed the ACA and went back to the way things were, then they be screwed if they lost their health insurance. His response was "Oh well, that's how things are meant to be" Like what the hell? I don't know if he would maintain that thought process if in the situation, but I really don't understand what kind of world these people want to live in.

I'm both a fan and critic of the ACA. I think it has many flaws, but these people are just ridiculous.

god damn President of the god damned United States of god damn America?

Or that prick Wilson calling him a liar during the speech?

These people have only hatred for Obama and Obamacare, logic is nowhere to be found.

Can you imagine anybody every doing these things to ANY other American president?

Never, unheard of.

They will do it from now on to Democrats only, that is one thing you can thank these assholes for, a whole new level of disrespect.

POSUCS.

Yeah, there are problems, and they are mostly spelled G-O-P obstruction. I've got people in my own family who could sure use a break on prescription costs, and when hubby finally retires, we are going to be among them.

But we won't be blaming Obama. He tried like hell.

Many bought plans that cost less than what they had. Their doctors no longer accepted the new plan because the discount rates were unacceptable. Obama or the ACa didn't cause that, they person did - my son included.

Before enactment of the ACA, nobody was ever denied coverage for a necessary medical procedure, nobody's premiums ever went up, nobody was ever denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition, and nobody ever went bankrupt due to medical expenses.
