Cute Anecdote

My father (79) leans Dem but I don't think he's ever voted. He 'doesn't want to get called for jury duty' because he owned a business and it would hurt the business.
But the other day he handed me a piece of paper and said, 'watch this guy, he's on a 10pm'.
I looked down at the paper and it said, John Oliver.
Johnnie is winning over the almost Octogenarians! LOL

All the way up until he died at 90. Sometimes he wouldn't agree with some of the political humor but more often it would amuse him enough he'd drop his conservative filters and enjoy the jokes.

That was enough to sneak a tendril under his hard core conservative shield and make him think a little more. And it didn't hurt that he'd have had several drinks by that time of night so was a little more susceptible to suggest!

In 2008 he even talked favorably about Obama as a result of some of the late night comments - and Mom really loved when the late night hosts skewered Palin.
