Crossposting from my post in Bernie group...I was hesitant to post this in here the other day because I saw another DU'er also in need and did not want to take attention away from her.
But I am beginning to get desperate now.
My original post is below. Any help at all is GREATLY appreciated!
I've been hesitant to post this in here about this because most of you probably don't know me from a hole in the wall. I used to go by username "Faye" and was really active during the 2004 Election FRAUD. I've been here and there ever since but have been back daily since the current campaign.
Anyway, I am having an extremely difficult time right now. No, there is no terrible tragedy (thank God!) but my daughter and I are going through a rough period financially. Partially my fault, I guess, because I did not know I should have been prepared for the summer season.
I am self-employed, run my own *usually* successful business, and work part-time as back-up to slow periods. Well in May, I hit a slow period AND lost half my hours in the part-time job. i haven't seen a child support payment in over 6 months (and usually never do anyway). We fell behind in all of our bills last month and this month and are trying to catch up. I have caught up on some things for now, thanks to others helping out, but now I have to find ways to get my rent money by the 16th to avoid court, eviction etc. I have a call out to Catholic Charity to help but have not yet heard back. I'm also working on finding something temporary for the summer to hold me over until the busier season is back and have sent my info out to several opportunities.
It was just this time last year when I left my day job to pursue my business, but had a few months' worth of bills saved up, so I don't think I noticed how slow it was. This year it has become quite apparent that business turns into crickets when late spring/summer hits. Will def. need to plan better for next year.

Thank you to anyone who can help at all!

(11,605 posts)Is that right? Before I hit the confirm button I want to make sure I am donating to the right place.
What I have to give is not much, but hopefully it will help a little.

(9,745 posts)That's my business. I'm having it all sent there because I hadn't used my personal one in a long time, and switched banks, and they were taking forever to confirm my new account. So have just been having it all sent there.

(11,605 posts)Just sent a little something. You might want to edit the original post to explain that it will come up as Genesis Metaphysical so people are not thrown off by it.

(9,745 posts)Thank you for your contribution! Every bit helps. I am very grateful for your generosity and support.
I will make sure to add something about that so people aren't confused.
It started out just being on my Facebook and most of my friends/family would know that was, didn't think of it when I shared it with DU.
Thank you again!
In return, I'm voting for Bernie tomorrow (finally)!!

(16,190 posts)I couldn't post my GoFundMe to my Facebook page, and it was going absolutely nowhere. I posted it in General Discussion and I've received a lot of help in the last few days, I've gone from 9% to 19% of my goal.

(9,745 posts)saw this post and decided to post about it ("another beggar" .... Never heard of the place. So I figure I'll say hi.
Thanks for talking about me on your forums tonight! Glad you remember me. Thanks for visiting my website. If you would have actually read the site, you would have seen that I actually DON'T do fortune telling
Feel free to stop and read my blog again any time! Thanks for at least acknowledging that my daughter's dad is a loser

(8,311 posts)... mighty upset that DU has a culture that involves occasionally helping each other if we're in need being acceptable.
Of course, when I had to ask for help, one of them did donate $5. Thank you again, whoever you were.

(16,190 posts)Wish I could contribute, but I'm currently experiencing issues of my own. Edit: I just shared it to Twitter and Google+.

Thank you to all who have helped out so far.
Deadline is 16th to avoid court & eviction.
Had interview yesterday and should know results today but it doesn't help the immediate situation....

(9,745 posts)So, I haven't reposted this in a while because I thought we had the help we need, but I just found out today that we got turned down by Catholic Charities for rent help because they didn't think I could take care of July rent (some weird rule they have). Well, I just got a job with a lawyer in NJ and started today, and I finally started getting child support again. So the lady is appealing my case but doesn't mean it will be approved.
Court was filed on us today for eviction. I don't know what the chances are of her getting us approved with my new income, so now we desperately desperately need help Eviction process has officially started today. I really don't want this to happen as I have secured work and am getting CS again - we should be fine now aside from getting caught up on this June rent!
ANY AND ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED.
