I'm calling the male (tabby) Clark and the female (Siamese) Cammie. The others have pretty much accepted them, and they're having a grand old time. They had their first set of shots and now I have Clark on antibiotics because he was sneezing and congested, not too badly, but more as a precaution so it doesn't develop into something worse. He's been on 3 days and I notice his energy level is much better...they have discovered a magical place called under the bed which is apparently more wonderful in the middle of the night to run around and play there.
Going to try and trap Mom this weekend...she's the mother of the last two litters and will not go into the trap...going to try a box trap to see if that fools her.

(31,516 posts)I was able to snatch one of the feral kittens at my house over the weekend. The rest of them scattered, but her eyes were stuck shut so she couldn't see to get away from me. I've been washing her eyes with saline solution and they are looking much better. They are still a little red, but they are open now.
She seems to be in good health, active, good appetite, playful and affectionate. She has decided that she likes being an indoor kitty, even if she had to endure the indignity of a bath. She has slept with me since I brought her in and is happy to see me when I return from work and follows me around the house. She appears to be 8 - 10 weeks old, eating solid food and using the litter box.
Boogie (the feral kitten I rescued 2 years ago) isn't thrilled with her, but he isn't mean to her. He just ignores her, for the most part. As long as he gets his attention and cat treats, he's cool with it.

(56,177 posts)Most of mine will now play with the kittens...Tara, a 9 month old rescue female was chasing Cammie all over the place and bopping her on the head, now she loves playing with her. Keep an eye on the little one's eyes...it may be a respiratory infection that comes back, most of my ferals have had that to some extent.

(26,602 posts)With just a bit of rearranging, they could probably hog all the space on that bed, instead of just most of it...
for your generosity!

(21,871 posts)in that first picture on the bed they are obviously so stressed out they don't even know which way is up.
but you're a good human for giving them the bestest toy ever -- a cardboard box.

(3,072 posts)Nothing more rewarding in my life than helping that little guy. He still sleeps with us every night. He is the most precious thing to me in this entire world. As long as he is here, I know everything in my life is going to be ok.
