It would appear that Trump's narcissism is reaching nuclear meltdown levels. He seems to be firing wildly at friends and foe alike. Any criticism, real or imagined, is being met with unhinged attacks, whether it is from democrats, republicans, the press, foreign leaders, puppies, dead Prussian kings, people that haven't been born yet....
Without hyperbole this man seriously needs a psychiatric evaluation. There is something very wrong with his mental state. I have never witnessed such severe narcissism and paranoia before.

Should the republicans attempt to push him out in Cleveland ... he's going to mount a 3rd-party run, running as a republican. And, I'm not sure if his goal will be to win the presidency, or burn down the republican party.

(49,002 posts)Selling his brand is just about all the business he has now.
Steaks, vodka (profits promised to charity, never delivered), wine, etc. He sells his name to suckers to put on buildings that he hasn't built. His property management company mismanages them.
He thinks "there is no such thing as bad publicity", but his brand is rapidly becoming toxic. As if his base abandoning Target over restroom issues is going to buy enough steaks to keep his plane flying.

Like I said on another thread This is Trump's modus operandi regarding press releases which is why I think he'll manufacture some reason not to debate Hillary
Insults and non answers will get him nowhere in a debate and Hillary will wind him up so bad he'll be spitting into the microphone

They're doing just that, the be quiet part, that is, not the tough, sharp, smart part;
Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn on Tuesday went a step further than McConnell, telling POLITICO he will no longer talk about Trump until after Nov. 8.
This is the Republican "leadership."

Atlanta (CNN) Donald Trump slammed GOP leaders on Wednesday for not lining up behind him, implying that he's willing to go forward without their help.
"We have to have our Republicans either stick together or let me just do it by myself. I'll do very well. I'm going to do very well. OK? I'm going to do very well. A lot of people thought I should do that anyway, but I'll just do it very nicely by myself," Trump said, though he did not elaborate on what doing it "by myself" would mean.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee also accused his party's leaders of being weak and told them to "please be quiet."
"You know the Republicans, honestly folks, our leaders, our leaders have to get tougher," Trump said during a rally in Atlanta. "Our leaders have to get a lot tougher. And be quiet. Just please be quiet. Don't talk. Please be quiet. Just be quiet to the leaders because they have to get tougher, they have to get sharper, they have to get smarter."
Trump's biting words for Republican leaders appeared to be a response to the deluge of criticism Trump has faced in recent weeks over his comments that a federal judge was biased against him because of his Mexican heritage and, most recently, House Speaker Paul Ryan's rebuke of Trump's proposed ban on Muslim immigration.
The criticism comes as Democrats have unified behind presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and in the wake of a scathing anti-Trump speech by President Barack Obama, who issued an extraordinary condemnation of Trump on Tuesday.
Trump has sought to unify Republicans around his candidacy since clinching the party's nomination in early May, but the billionaire businessman has grown frustrated in recent weeks with the pace of that coalescing -- and the heavy fire he sustained from his own party amid his racial comments about the judge.
Ryan spokeswoman AshLee Strong declined to respond to Trump, instead pointing to Ryan's remarks during a Tuesday news conference, during which Ryan reasserted that he does not "think a Muslim ban is in our country's interest" nor "reflective of our principles."
Ryan previously called Trump's remarks about Judge Gonzalo Curiel "the textbook definition of a racist comment."
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus' office did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

(4,033 posts)If they nominate him at the convention, they lose the House and Senate as Trump completely melts down as even his most ardent supporters desert him.
If they don't nominate him then they lose the House and Senate as he launches a 3rd party effort and his supporters go absolutely bat-shit crazy over the Republicans not giving the nomination to the person they voted for.
I may just take up buttered popcorn again.
Doctor Jack
(3,072 posts)They would lose this election but they could at least claim that he was a one off psycho that didn't represent the party. If they do nominate him, he becomes the de facto (orange) head of the party as a whole and claiming he doesn't represent the party afterward would be a difficult case to make.
