Sign Petition to Stop dogs from being boiled and burned alive in China!

Animal rights groups say 10,000 dogs are slaughtered during the festival each year, and that many are electrocuted, burned and skinned alive. Pictures posted online show flayed dogs, dogs hanging from meat hooks, and piles of dog corpses on the side of the road. In China dog meat is prized as a nutritious wintertime dish that doctors can prescribe to treat maladies such as impotence and poor circulation.

As much as I sympathize, a petition is meaningless to the Chinese. nt FLPanhandle Jun 2016 #5

to market researchers for a profit.

China isn't going to respond to a petition. They're going to do what they are going to do. If enough people get up at the UN and call them disgusting and cruel, they might tone it down...but they like to eat dogs over that way. It is very disturbing.

I've seen fat pups in cages in that region that weren't pets--they were food.

In Italy I lived up the road from the horse meat butcher. That was a bit off-putting, too. I could not get past the sign, which had, as part of the advertisement for the shop, a cartoon of a horse with an ENORMOUS smile on his cartoon face.

I mean--really. Who thought that was a good idea?

However, there is a massive petition being circulated within China to stop this particular festival.

I always found it funny how the northern people look down on the southerners for eating dog and civet cat, "They'll eat everything with four feet but the table."

but if India had a petition with millions and millions of signatures telling us to stop eating cows, we would collectively laugh it off.
