EVERYONE was watching, and EVERYONE was taking note of who was there and who was not.

Lo and behold, he showed up a couple of hours later. I think I must have been one of many calling to tell him to get his ass over there.

So be one of many. If your rep is already there, call to thank them (call 202-224-3121, they'll ask for your zip and then connect you to your rep).

If they are there, and if you can spare some cash, tell them you're sending a donation on the basis of their action. Even $5 will make a statement. And if you say you're sending it, do.

If your Representative is on the floor (literally), give her or him your vote in November. If your Representative has other priorities today, vote for his opponent. When elected officials can stand up to the NRA and win their next election, it sends a message to others that the NRA isn't all-powerful.
