After three years on the job, MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan is leaving his TV spot.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that Ratigan will depart from his cable news role, with the final edition of "The Dylan Ratigan Show" airing on Friday, June 22.
Think of it like ending a Broadway play, Ratigan told the Times, adding that he is looking to put his words from television into action.

Civility begets more civility. Respect given boomrangs more respect.
Love given is returned manifolds.
OTOH rudeness and brutishness boomrangs into more of the same back in your face.
The older I get, the more I realize how true all this is.

(20,634 posts)He does know how to read a balance sheet, which is more than I can say about any of MSNBC's other hosts.

(25,026 posts)His truth percentage was higher than most so I don't see any special reason for animosity. The line of corporate talking heads more corporate friendly and more full of shit is way longer than the opposite.
Above all else being anti-establishment is the crime with a close second to not kissing Obama's ass to the level expected of an M$NBC host who it is expected will hover round about the establishment Democratic line.

"It is in this context that I have decided to leave cable news to collaborate and join with some of these leaders to experiment and explore new ways to tell their stories"
That has to be the most eloquent verbiage I have ever read used to announce that you are simply going to become a top gun to the highest bidder. LOL

(32,705 posts)I always found myself in a dilemma when his show came on--do I risk leaving it on the channel and somehow giving him ratings, or should I change the channel and possibly forget to change back in time for the good shows (Tweety, Al, etc)? I agree with others who said Bashir should go from 3 to 5.

(111,098 posts)He was not a hardcore partisan, either way, in my opinion.
He presented a lot of useful information about financial matters and banks. He had worked on Wall Street and knew a lot about the subject.
I never disliked him, even though I thought he sometimes crossed the line when he would say that both sides were equally to blame. Maybe both sides were to blame but not equally, in my opinion.
