I'm old enough to remember Ed Gein. I was in 5th grade when they arrested him, and we had a field day with all the twisted Ed Gein jokes:

Q: What did Ed Gein say to the police when they arrested him?
A: "Come on, Officer; have a heart!"

Q: What is Ed Gein's favorite cookie?
A: Lady fingers.

Q: What is Ed Gein's favorite candy?
A: Farmer's Fannies.

Fifth-graders are warped little beasts.

They didn't want it to become a tourist attraction. I'm not sure if anything sits on the land right now, or if the morbidly curious could even find it.

Some enterprising soul DID tour the state fair circuit with "Ed Gein's Grave Robbing Car," which was the inspiration for the punk rock band "Ed Gein's Car."

There is a farm at the location. The construction on the farmhouse on the land currently seemed to be some time in the late 70's or early 80's. Not really much else to see. Nothing at the location would distinguish it much from any other location in the area.

I think Gein was listed in it but there've been tons of wackos there. Is it the cheese? Or maybe the Head Cheese?

Yik.

I mean, Gein and Dahmer weren't right-wing politicians, right?
