Liberal or Conservative??

The republicans always say they want to get their country back.
It is my belief that the Founding Fathers were more liberal than conservative.
So if they want things to go back to the way they were, then they need to become more liberal.

Conservatives would have never had the balls to break away from England!!

The founding fathers, while certainly playing at being more enlightened than other rulers, were white privileged male capitalists who didn't pretend to want equal rights for all people within the country.

Really, they just wanted equal rights as British citizens of the times; if they'd gotten that, there would have been no revolution.

that the U.S. is so "exceptional." Our founders were capitalist to the core. Libertarian capitalists.

You can't accurately map the political disputes and divisions of that era onto the political disputes and divisions of today.

If you were to simply take the views of the founding fathers and map them forwards in time unchanged, then obviously they'd be far to the right of all but the most conservative Republicans, but that's probably not a sensible thing to do.
