MSNBC's Morning Joe cohost Mika Brzezinski, 49, has quietly divorced her husband of nearly 23 years, local tv reporter James 'Jim' Hoffer, the father of her two teenaged daughters.

News of the split comes nearly four years after anchor Joe Scarborough and his wife Susan quietly parted ways, and has fueled chatter that the morning show power team could be partners in their private lives as well as public.

A spokesman for Brzezinski, whose father was Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, confirmed the split to Page Six, but refused to comment on any romance.

'Mika's divorce was finalized in the past year. She's really grateful that it was done amicably and in private. This has, of course, been a painful time for her family. So right now she is focused on her two teenage daughters, and on continuing to heal.'

The couple have two daughters in their late teens, Carlie, who just graduated high school, and Johns Hopkins student Emilie.

Mika, a Democrat, became a staple on the former Republican congressman's morning show in the summer of 2007 after endearing herself to the masses by refusing to read a story about Paris Hilton.

The show has since become a cable news morning hit and critical darling, airing from 6-9 am every weekday, and the cohosts' rapport has fueled their rise.

For the second quarter of 2016, the show drew the biggest total viewer audience for the 6-9am timeslot in MSNBC’s history and beat CNN’s counter-programming New Day in total viewers and the demo.

...like a fake Democrat, to me. I know her father served in the Carter Admin, and honorably. I know she's been identified as a Democrat and will likely announce her vote for Hillary by October - but it seems like she's acting, like this is a "role" she plays on the show. As far as the divorce, it's her business. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if she had a new partner; usually, a divorce means one or both have found a new bed partner.
