MANY people told me mine was the first Bernie for President t-shirt they saw in Portland, Oregon. I was on the bandwagon early and I donated money early.
I'm comfortably a Bernie supporter for Hillary. That means I've not only made peace with the idea of voting for her, it means I'm willing to work to get her elected. That wasn't easy. Politically, I'm to the left of Obama and to the right of Bernie. I think Hillary is to the right of Obama.
In those moments when I need motivation to actually work for Hillary, I focus on the fact that millions of little girls will broaden their dreams just because they will see a girl who became a woman who became President of the United States, and that alone will inspire them just as I've seen black children inspired by Obama's presidency and his undying dignity in the face of tremendous hate.
Be not foolish enough to think I'd vote for her just because she's a woman. That's far from what I am saying. I'm saying I found a sport where Hillary and I have a common interest, she's got the ball, and I'm blocking for her, head first.
It's okay to wish there were other teams, other players, or even other sports at play, but this is the game we are in NOW. At some point, if you're going to play, you've got to pick a team. Are you for Trump, or are you for Hillary?

(2,550 posts)I won't list all the reasons I'm supporting her, but when I talk to others, I ask them "Which party represents the government of: yes, we can?" That's the candidate you should support.
The presidency is about leadership, stability and hope.
The Democrats embody those principles.

(27,820 posts)If it makes you feel any better, in 2008 I determined that Hillary was to the left of Obama and I still think that. Only time will tell, of course.
Isn't that the way her campaign signs go. Oops, I forgot

(7,393 posts)However, just in case it makes you feel better - based on voting records and policy proposals Hillary is actually slightly to the left of Obama.

I hope y'all are correct that Hillary is to the left of Obama. Yes, that would make me feel better, especially with the future of the Supreme Court. I've been practicing civil rights law for almost 15 years, and people have no idea how much their daily lives are affected by federal judicial appointments.
Be well, and thanks again.
