Odd graphic on the TV just now, re: Fourth of July statistics

They had a graphic showing Fun Fourth Facts or whatever they called it. How may towns have fireworks displays, how many tons of fireworks will be set off today. Et cetera.

But there was also this fact:

Number of Americans celebrating the Fourth of July - 214 Million.

There are 350 million people in the US. What are the other 136 million doing?

Planning trips to Syria?
Plotting the overthrow of something?
Making up shit about Hillary Clinton for when the latest manufactured scandal blows over?
Attending Trump rallies?

My son's working a double shift today.
Drive around any town USA.

Gas,stations. .theatres..hotels..resorts. ..hospital's. ..stores..police and fire....restaurants just to name a few are open for buisness.

Sure it's pretty close to that number.

They pay double and triple time for holiday work.
Sadly that's the exception to the rule nowdays.

Alot of peeps can't afford a day off without pay and companies take advantage and just pay straight time.

I hate "big" holidays and prefer to sit at home reading and getting stuff done that I didn't get done on workdays.

Crowds bother me.

And adding in the percentile of what businesses stay open on the holiday and staffing required.

Sure it's not exact but gives a ball park figure.

If 2 thirds of the country works on a regular basis than it makes sense that only a 3rd would get the 4th off ...being a weekday holiday.

Christmas and Thanksgiving are different but peeps still need to work.

Or don't appreciate its significance. And don't count out those who think it's a nationalistic waste of time.

Me? I'm workin'. I'm a salary employee, so I'm pretty much working for straight time.

for all the drunk flatlanders to sober up and go home. I probably should be digging graves for all the dead from the next war for profit.
