It now appears that Comey did not have the evidence to call for an indictment against Hillary Clinton but that did not stop him from doing everything he could do to tear her down.
He confused everyone with his damning proclamations. Then, he surmised that there was no "reasonable" prosecutor that would indict her on the charges against her??
Let us hope that the Democrats on the committee, that are holding the hearing this morning, put it all into perspective. He did everything he could do as a partisan Republican to smear and damage the Democrat that is running for the White House.
Forget the integrity. There was none.

(14,755 posts)Everything I've seen on social and new media is that she break the law and got away with it. And, I'm talking about left-wing media.
I haven't seen anyone say what you're suggesting.

(7,429 posts)Everything I've seen in Social Media have played up the few choice words that Comey used.
"I would have been indicted if this happened"
"Look at what happened to Petraeus. How come the same didn't happen to Hillary"
Yes I know it's the Right Wing bubble, but those people are still talking about it.
Look at Congress today

(182,829 posts)I am seeing FB posts from people who are usually non-political and the cover of the National Enquirer has CORRUPT! and a picture of Hillary. The cover declares that she was indicted...sort of. Look I know the NE is a joke but everyone who waits in line at the grocery store this week is going to see this.
She will probably still win but voter apathy (and suppression efforts) is a very dangerous element in the mix.

I'm amazed at how fast they put it together with Comey quotes and the usual dark imagery.

Even if you say that Hillary is the most untrustworthy to ever run.
She is, undeniably, facing the Most Unqualified person to ever run.
And being unqualified might be the nicest thing you can say about Trump.
Give truth serum to any rational thinking person and ask them,
Between Trump and Clinton, who Should be President?

(11,197 posts)corporate masters like it. this way Hillary can simply spend her time attacking the idiot Trump, and he can attack the crooked Hillary, and neither has to talk about what they would do as President which is good because both their political leanings are far to the right of 70% of Americans.

(36,063 posts)saved her from indictment.
It's rather long on giving the impression she misbehaved but her status puts her beyond reach afforded to less privileged persons... His language of 'extremely careless' flat out begs to be interpreted as "gross negligence". The statement above the close that others doing similar things could be prosecuted clearly suggests her escape from charges is a matter of her privileged status.
All of it seems to point to a hand-off of her prosecution to a body that would be immune to administration pressure or the working rules of the judicial system. It's clear that body will be the republican held House of Representatives.
I think this is headed for production of a statement of censure against HRC. It's well within their control and in any other year it would be certain to have damning effects on her candidacy.
Considering the alternative now available to American voters, it seems likely to make no difference on the outcome. But it will justify her presidency being placed under constant scrutiny and result in grudging if any cooperation from the beginning.

(13,069 posts)To equate the Secretary of State's use of e-mail to murder is the most outlandish statement I have heard all week.
1. The two do not equate
2. You are not abusing your power (are you?)
3. He got it wrong--and distorted facts to help his republican buddies.
4. utter bullshit
