Black Lives M A T T E R

I have no idea why, but the events of the last hours - Baton Rouge, St. Paul, and now Dallas - feel like a paradigm shift, and I hope to my core it is for the better.

Random thoughts:

The governor on Minnesota said flat out that the shooting there had race as a factor.

In Baltimore, the cops involved in the Freddie Gray death are being acquitted in bench trials. The prosecutor is getting death threats.

Citizens are documenting events on cell phone video. They are brave to do that.

The fiancee of the slain Philando Castile, Diamond Reynolds, was incredibly brave in making a video of the murder and its aftermath. The video is wrenching, horrific, poignant. A man dies before your eyes and in front of a four year old child.

How much more can we tolerate?

How much more must people of color endure?

This has to change and it has to change fast.

Edit to correct my autocorrect's spelling of Mr. Castile's name.

If this was ISIS, everyone would've been a target. The shooter(s) is either a BLM member, or, more plausibly, drunk on their "All Police are Evil" rhetoric. BLM's credibility, if it has any left, died tonight.

If cops murder people and get off, you can't be surprised when people start lashing out at cops.

I'm not saying it's right, but it has to be expected.

The camera's help get the message across. Personally I feel demonstrations can be counter productive. There is always some assholes who start violence that mars the good effect of the peaceful demonstration.

Also, please don't demonstrate for a 3 time loser, its too easy to dismiss the person of low character. It isn't right but perception helps.

I also feel that "Police Procedures" need to be evaluated, I am sick and tired of a cop being found not violating proper procedure when it is evident they clearly are and get off with out punishment.

The item that needs to occur first is at the bottom of your list. As many people of color feel and rightly so, this is the core of the problem. Don't complain about the symptoms if you aren't really serious about treating the root cause of the disease.

....Mr. Troll was already gone. Hurray for the jury system -- what he said was disgustingly bigoted and ignorant.
