A thought about the news coverage of the Dallas cop killings vs the two dead black men

whose killings sparked this and the posture of the media.

First off, the deaths of the cops is terrible, and they, too, have family who love them.

But as they're covering this, all shitbirds like Clint Van Zant can talk about is cops, cops, cops, going all the way back to the Texas Tower Massacre. Telling us how tragic is the deaths of these heroes. Blah Blah Blah. Not to denigrate the cops. Just to say how awful and unbalanced is the coverage. Cop lives do NOT matter more than Black Lives.

And yet, NOT ONE WORD about the two dead black men whose deaths at the hands of cops sparked this.

If the media and public reaction to their killings was given the same kind of coverage and societal outrage, maybe we wouldn't be seeing it go to the next (and logical) level. Tonight was only a matter of time.

I guess I could "somewhat" understand if the protester went after the cops who killed those black guys, but for all we know those cops killed were great friends of black people, which now may open up more job opportunities for the racist cops. Indiscriminate killing is beneath contempt and deserves no justification or you become the enemy.

Both acts are outrageous and both should be condemned entirely, but it seems some enjoy giving protesters cover and others enjoy posting the rap sheet of slain black citizens.

Both are messed up.

I wish to congratulate you for a poorly worded response that turned into accusation.

I wish to congratulate you again for COMPLETELY missing the fucking point.

Waytago, buddy. Waytago.

I've never seen the police show up in force like that for a regular old Joe getting shot. One cop gets shot and the FBI is on a private jet. Ten people get shot in a park in Chicago or a party in LA and the police don't roll up with that kind of force. Half the time they don't even catch the shooter.

(No disrespect towards law enforcement or the Dallas PD intended)

First they have the reminder to always be afraid for them. Now it is multiplied beyond the usual fear in sensing potential for a retaliatory backlash from police.
