The shooters threatened to plant bombs. I don't know how they know that but the police did report that

it seems planned and there were bomb threats and it may be politically motivated.

I tend to the other direction and refer to mass violence and mass murder rather than terrorism.

... they can call it domestic terrorism, if not a revenge killing. I was just replying to the OP because my nose has been in front of the TV all night and I hadn't heard them mention the word yet.

Using them adds a prefex of Domestic or International.

Domestic terrorists have been far, far, more successful than International ones.

it's considered (I guess) terrorism only if politically motivated. Then why not call that political terrorism.

Who ever they are they seem to have experience in warfare, perhaps veterans.

We'll have to see how this unfolds.
