http://sharonherald.com/local/x1570621515/Union-board-settle-beef-over-eatsUnion workers in the Sharpsville Area School District cafeteria were the victors in a dispute with the school over what they could, and could not eat.
~ snip ~
The grievance was based on the allegation that the school district violated established past practice in charging cafeteria workers for food or drinks that couldnt be sold or consumed by students. These items would include food or drinks with expired dates or foods that had been reheated, none of which can be served to students according to safe food regulations.
----------------------------------------------
Not sure what the biggest issue is here...the union grievance, or the amount of wasted food at school cafeterias to where there IS expired food and leftovers.

Either throw them out or let people take it for free (knowing the risks).

Win win-win, all around. What's not to love?
