Utah’s Rob Bishop tries to block land deal 2,000 miles away

U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop ... told a group at a Western States Land Commissioners Association meeting in Moab last year: "If anyone likes the Antiquities Act, the way it is written, die. I need stupidity out of the gene pool. And it is the most evil act ever invented" ...

He ... has held hearings to scrutinize whether the National Park Service should accept a donation of 87,500 acres of pristine woodlands from a nonprofit foundation started by Burt's Bees co-founder Roxanne Quimby, and whether President Barack Obama should designate the land as a national monument.

The foundation wants to give the acreage to the National Park Service so it can be preserved.

Bishop has shown skepticism over the proposed gift and has said it would harm Maine residents — even though the landowners can keep out Maine residents right now if they want ...

One has to look at the State of Utah and read it's History as well as who and whom set the day to day agenda . Will guarantee after a bit of research into this Theocracy,you will come away shaking your head in amazement how and why can a Culture like this still survive in today's world. Remember this,Utah is the birth place of the John Birch Society as well as the American Independence Party,amazing.
