Paul Manafort, Donald Trumps top adviser, and his ties to pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine
Paul Manafort, the adviser hired by Donald Trump to add stability and institutional know-how to Trumps often scattershot presidential campaign, has long and deep reported ties to pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine.
PolitiFact, as part of an exchange of journalists sponsored by the U.S. State Department, is hosting two foreign political journalists, including a reporter from Ukraine. We asked that reporter to analyze Manaforts connections to Ukraine and its political leadership. What follows is her report.
"We joke in Ukraine that it is a bad sign for Trump that he hired Manafort. Because his client Yanukovych was ousted and fled to Russia, to the city of Rostov. So Trump could also end up in Rostov. It is almost like an anecdote." -- Ukrainian political expert Oleg Kravchenko
Manaforts entry into Ukrainian politics
Ukrainian political experts say Manafort, 67, was first hired to work in Ukraine more than a decade ago by the countrys wealthiest businessman, Rinat Akhmetov. Akhmetov, a steel and iron ore magnate, is worth an estimated $2.8 billion, according to Forbes.

Reason 1,987,888,001 he's not fit to be President: he doesn't ever think through the legal consequences of anything he's done.

(135,859 posts)"He said one nice thing about me. He said I'm a genius. I said thank you very much to the newspaper and that was the end of it. I never met Putin," Trump said.
Trump, who has complimented Putin before, said that he would treat the dictator "firmly" but have their two countries be "friendly."
On the GOP debate stage in November, though, Trump bragged about meeting the Russian leader.

(86,764 posts)why all his wives come from the former Soviet bloc... they are his watchers. They watch him and report back to his debtors/Slavic mobsters about what he does and says. Now that the scat's out of the bag, so to speak, he's hardly able to breathe while lying to save his ass and in order to gain the seat of power to sell us all into Russian rule. Those wives are probably spies.
