Does anyone think Trump really wants to be president

I think Trump ran thinking he would get his name out there, soak up the limelight, act like an ass in a few debates, and eventually Rubio, or Cruz or somebody else would overtake him and he would bow out. I think Trump winning the nomination is actually his own worse nightmare come true. I think he realizes he doesn't possess the brains to be president, but because he is so self-centered he couldn't do the right thing and concede the race to Cruz when he had a chance. So now he has to ride this thing out to it's eventual conclusion.

I think part of the reason he keeps making these outlandish statements is because he genuinely wants to lose this race. It's the reason he offered the foreign and domestic policy to Kasich, because he doesn't want it. I think Trump is shitting his pants every new day that passes and as we get closer to the election I think he is going to completely unravel. He doesn't want to be president, he just didn't realize that his white supremacist stump speeches wouldn't get him thrown out of the race but instead would make him the front runner - oops.

I mean obviously I think it's pretty transparent right now what has happened. You don't say what Trump said today about wanting Russia to hack the DNC if you are seriously running for president. You can think it privately, sure, but you don't say that. You don't have to be smart to know that though, which I think is the final clue.

The funny thing is that Trump could have done the honorable thing and gotten out of the race and saved some of his remaining dignity. But he cares so little about anyone else that he just doesn't care the damage he is doing to the poor old grand republican party. I just wonder when he is going to finally snap to the point he can longer put up a discernible appearance of of a true campaign and which GOPer he will use to sack with what's left of this charade. My guess is Cruz ends up holding the bag, about two weeks from election day.

But Trump is so ego-centric that conceding the race would be the ultimate insult. This way when he loses the election he will blame the GOP and Cruz. He will throw them under the buss for their lack of unity and that way he gets to save face. I know it doesn't seem like it, but to Trump losing the election is the better scenario than conceding and having everyone know that you didn't have the "balls" to see it all the way through. Remember he sees himself as the ultimate "macho" man. Conceding was never in the cards.

Trump lucked into a free media strategy for the primaries, but I sense that the media is getting tired of being a conveyor belt and that his ratings are going down.

Soon the media will recognize that they can make lots of money filming Trump in a slow-motion train wreck if they needle him a bit now and then.

Hillary and the Democratic Party need to get under his skin on a weekly basis, especially for the debates. His handlers will coach him, but properly timed and barbed jabs will make him explode uncontrollably.

Seems to me, Trump has always been a social liberal and never had a lot of interest in national politics. A few years ago, adter his businesses started failing and his credit dried up, he had to turn to Russian oligarchs to keep his brand afloat. I don't know how much he is leveraged...I've seen numbers of between $50MM to $680MM. Lets split the diff and say $350MM. Trump was in Moscow for the Miss Universe contest and he admitted at the time he met all of the oligarchs. So they loaned him a bundle. But perhaps there was a conscious decision by Putin and his mob pals to set a trap for Trump. Knowing Trumps narcisstic personality and the unfounded claim to be the smartest guy ever, they had a fish that they could bait and reel in when needed. Maybe they took incriminating videos of Trump doing blow with hookers to really set the hook deep.

Starting a couple of years ago, maybe the loans were called in and Trump couldn't meet call. The Russian mob (with Putin'orchestration in the bankground), made him an offer he couldn't refuse -run for POTUS and your debts will be forgiven. The other option of refusing and they would bankrupt him, release the video's, and maybe even go after family members.

All I know is, he seems to be a different man today than he was a few years ago. He seems to be approaching mental breakdown territory. I really doubt that he really wanted to run in the 1st place...I think he had other compelling reasons to enter this race.

Just like how he has his name name on other buildings that he has nothing to do with...he doesn't want the work or the responsibilty. He just wants his ego fed..name recognition and title is fine enough.

It's why we should be more scared who his VP pick is because he even alluded to his walking away from the presidency in an interview recently.

He's a megalomaniac and sees the presidency as a vehicle of power he can wield globally. I thought perhaps he was throwing the election, but now I don't. Even though reasonable people see Trump for what he is, his bully tactics appeal to those who believe someone is out to get them or out to kill them. So it's definitely not random craziness. He's betting he'll be able to scare enough people to win the election.

Let's hope there isn't a Reichstag Fire type event that will help him out.
