Iowa restaurant owner: "... if he gets in office is he going to be that way to us little people?"

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/13/campaign-events-iowa-diners_n_1593870.html

I think it's safe to say that political campaigns should make a concerted effort to tread lightly when visiting Iowa dining establishments on the trail. Especially after the Romney campaign's ill-fated visit to the Main Street Diner in Council Bluffs, which ended in a lot of damaged property, broken keepsakes, and hurt feelings. Dianne Bauer, who owns the diner, opened up to Nicole Ebat of KPTM News, and didn't have anything kind to say about her restaurant being used as a campaign stop:

(snip)

Bauer added that for all the trouble she endured, she never even got to meet Mitt Romney -- a problem that Romney, to his credit, tried to make up for with a personal phone call. Still, Bauer says it wasn't enough to assuage her anger: "I took it as mocking." As Bauer tells it, former candidate Rick Perry sets a gold standard for the campaign diner visit, taking care to meet with his hosts and express his gratitude before heading out into the restaurant to stump for votes.

They do not forget and they do not forgive in Iowa, folks. Back in 2008, a primary campaign visit by the Clinton campaign to a Maid-Rite diner in Iowa turned into a massive kerfuffle after a forgotten tip for waitress Anita Esterday sucked her up into the political news cycle. Esterday was left feeling pretty down about Clinton, telling The Huffington Post, "I don't believe she can help out the working women of this world because I don't believe she gets it." That sounds a lot like Bauer, today, on Romney: "With how he treated me, is that how he's going to treat others? You know, if he gets in office is he going to be that way to us little people?"

(end snip)

Umm, hey Rmoney, your Bain is showing.

He already sneers suspiciously at what he thinks are "7/11 cookies" people just like you offer him. It's a good thing you noticed though, because it only counts when he does it to you even though you can see him doing it to others all the time.

I'm pretty sure sometimes he remembers to thank the help too.

And couldn't think of what a donut was called. He ended up standing up and pointed to what he wanted because he couldn't think of what it was called and all it was was a chocolate frosted donut. Can you believe that!

Use them and then move on to the next fool.

Yes, if this asshole gets in office, the country is in for a rude, rough ride like we have never seen before. It will make the bu$h's look like saints.

But it will still be all Obama's fault, as always, when the republicans are in office everything that goes bad is the fault of the last guy, when the Democrats are in office it is always their fault, even the stuff that went bad with the last guy.

Every molecule of his being is the entirety of what is wrong with American Democracy all bundled into one person.

He is every country club entitled crony capitalist that has ever fucked up the lives of every working American.

Hey, all you millions of foreclosed former home owners. You want to put one face on your misery?

Rmoney, he is the epitome of all that corrodes what's left of our Democracy.

He is Kenny-boy Lay, Jamie Dimond, Lloyd Blankfein, Joe Cassano, Tony Hayward and Stephen J Hemsley recombined into one man!

Are we as a country stupid enough to elect such a monster to ruin our lives even further?

Thom Hartmann recently discussed the SUPREME COURT NOMINATIONS the next President will make. Since the SUPREMES ARE THE MOST POWERFUL BRANCH of our Federal Government, the damage even more Romney-appointed TREACHEROUS CRETINS sitting on the Court will wreak upon us is beyond comprehension.

Future children will be home schooled before they are sent off to their little 10 year old full time jobs about the quaint Constitutional Rights Americans used to enjoy before the advent of THE PERMANENT REPUBLICAN MAJORITY.

he was doing her a favor when she shut down half her restaurant for him. But he does understand, as a businessman, what it is to have a little dent in your income. Why doesn't she just lay off a waitress for a week to make up for the lost night of income?

Maybe when he apologized for the wadded up tablecloths, he told her "all you have to do is have one of your maids iron them and they'll be good as new, heh!heh!" (I swear the next asshole who tells me "all you have to do" after they shit all over my life in going to end up smiling out their butt.)

Seriously, they have no clue how much damage they do...what the cost is in terms of time and effort to the "little people" who don't have a full staff to clean up after their elephant feet come tramping through.

When she makes up her list of damages, she should treble it and include payment for her own time fixing the busted boom.
