Really!? Insiders concerned Trump will skip the debates

Playbook: “There is increasing concern in news and political circles that Donald Trump will not agree to the three slated presidential debates this fall, a historic break with political norms in the lead-up to the election. The three bouts — organized by the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates — are Sept. 26 at Hofstra University in New York, Oct. 9 at Washington University in St. Louis and Oct. 19 in Las Vegas. They are usually wonky and tightly scripted affairs, and offer the next true reset point in the race for the White House.”

“Debate moderators have not been announced, but Republican and Democratic sources, senior media executives and anchors in New York and Washington are casting serious doubt about whether Trump will agree to participate in the primetime events.”

I predicted this as a possibility weeks ago. Then they should just ask questions of Hillary and put an empty stool with a bad orange wig over it next to her.

on stage with a woman who neither fears him or his bulliness behavior...just saying, trump has little actually grasp of facts and knowledge on almost everything and anything dealing with foreign affairs, economy, environment, constitution and governing....

all he can do is a debate environment is prove how unfit he is...now on the other hand...his ego and narcissism may leave him no choice but appear.

either way...its a win-win for democrats and hillary

bake him into a pie. Seriously. Right there in front of 40 million people.

I laughed this morning when a talking head, responding to a comment about debates and bringing Trump's numbers up before November, spoke of "any intervening events." Obviously he seriously doubts there will be any debate events.

At various points in the last few months, a couple of pundits on "the shows" suggested that Trump should do "murder boards" to get up to speed on the issues.

By all accounts he doesn't have the attention span to do that--not to mention the fact that he is incredibly thin-skinned and wouldn't tolerate even his closest advisors correcting him for one moment.

That type of preparation is standard for presidential debates, but he doesn't have the discipline to do it.

Typically, candidates who are trailing have more to gain from debates. But he knows he can't hold his own with Hillary... and won't do what it would take to get halfway prepared.

since he intends for Pence to be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Or at least, that's the offer Don, Jr. made to Kasich's people. We don't know that Pence got the same deal. But given that Manafort publicly said that Trump's VP would "to do the part of the job he doesn’t want to do," we can assume so.

You know...

70 years old...

never worked a single day in politics or history or international economy or military...

never faced negative consequences for fudging facts...

And he will pull an all-nighter and cram everything he needs to know for the job, the night before he starts with the job.

tolerate that. I think it's possible something weird might happen, like skip the debates, ignoring them, saying that's what establishment people do, they do debates, and the debates are rigged. The fools that follow him would lap that up.

You are entirely right about that. It probably wouldn't play as well with undecideds, but then again, if one can't make up one's mind between these two candidates, there can't be a lot of engaged grey matter in one's cranium!

to show his tax returns. Where are they, Donito?

I've wondered if it's his strategy to agree at the last minute hoping HRC will take him at his word as not participating and won't prepare herself.

In his little brain giving him some sort of advantage.

My advice to HRC is to prepare anyway. But, I'm confident she will.

Of course, the upcoming debates are totally RIGGED. Moderators? RIGGED. Timing of the debates? RIGGED. Questions that will be asked of candidates? RIGGED. The entire left-wing media RIGGED. Those current public opinion polls? RIGGED. The entire "system"? RIGGED. The election as a whole? RIGGED. Victim-hood, at its finest.

Actually want Trump to skip the debates. If they are already on the verge of being dragged down by DT a scenario where Hillary destroys him might truly seal their fate. At this point the only strategy is to limit losses in the House and barely hang on in the Senate. If he goes on national TV and gets embarrassed then the right might be toast for a very long time. I believe James Carville predicted this many years ago.
