8. I got a nasty virus alert when I clicked on the link.

One of those where you just have to shut down your whole computer immediately. If you click on anything on the screen, your computer will be emptied and they tell you to call a 800 number and pay $250 to get your data back. Sheeesh!

9. ctrl, alt del, end the task in task manager, along with everything visable. X out the browser

close everything that's open. Empty anything new in your download folder and temp files, at least 2 of them. Double/permanently delete everything out of your recycling bin.

THEN run an anti-virus program and scan the whole puter.

Then shut it down.
