Bad news, guys.

I don't know if Donald Trump's going to last the week.

He's been having an absolute bizarre meltdown on Twitter all day, just ranting and whining and going off on all perceived enemies (New York Times, fellow Republicans, etc.)

My suspicion is that Reince Preibus is on the phone to the bullpen right now.

I know many of you wanted to see this trainwreck all the way to November, but I've got to be honest....I don't see it happening. And I myself up until now thought he was going to carry it all the way through.

i maintain that they can't survive by overturning the results of the primary. it's more important to for people to think that votes matter.

worse thing they'll do is pull all funding and focus on congressional and state elections.

trump will be let to fend for himself, but he will remain on the ballot.

Yes, he's as mad as a box of frogs, apparently now just tweeting incoherently to himself. But assuming he has to be taken away for a nice long rest, what then? It's too late to get anybody else on a lot of states' ballots, and Pence doesn't automatically fill the vacancy. The RNC would have to appoint somebody, and that person would be nothing but a sacrificial lamb. And anyhow, there's no mechanism for an involuntary removal of a candidate from the ticket, and IMO Trump (more and more resembling Kurtz in Apocalypse Now - when will he tweet "the horror... the horror..."?) is less and less likely to withdraw as he becomes more unhinged.

And if they did figure out a way to unload him, his loyal minions might want to exercise their 2nd amendment rights, or at least burn up the computers in their mothers' basements threatening to do so.

I know that a fair portion of DU is posting OPs that say that Drumpf is going to somehow drop out, or be forced out, or some such shit.

But has anybody noticed that nobody explains how that could rationally happen? It's like having people running around here with their hair on fire screaming Drumpf is going to give up! Or, the GOP is going to force Drumpf out!!!! Just how does either of those things happen?

Drumpf is the GOP nominee for President of the United States. Period!

Dowse your flaming hair, sit back, and enjoy the scenery.

Oh! And GOTV for all Democratic candidates.

My best to you all.

... withdraws, or is forced out by the TPTB in the Republican Party is now a moot point.

The end result is the same. He isn't electable, and never was. Whether he dies on the track on the way to the finish-line, or is replaced mid-race by the GOP, Hilllary wins either way.

Unfortunately, he is not going to leave the race voluntarily nor be forced out. He's there to stay with all of his diabolical flaws, racism, sexism, ignorance all on display. What I want for us to do as Democrats is continue to GOTV and keep telling ourselves that Hillary is behind by 10 points, AND that a tRump presidency would LITERALLY be as disastrous for our country as the Smallpox epidemic was in the 1800's when it was used against Native Americans. I'm very serious when I say that. He could have the power to pack courts at every level with judges so right-winged and bigoted that what gains we made these past 100 or so years will be wiped out. Who in hell would want to go back to a woman into having a risky abortion she'd be preforming herself. Race relations, as delicate as they are, would be worse under a tRump presidency. He'd hack away at education, environmental protections, banking regulations and more, and there is NO telling what influence he'll allow Russia to have on our foreign policies etc., and no telling if this cretin will try to take the USA into another war which we don't need.

tRump has to be stopped. He is as lethal a scourge as we've ever known. Again, I'm very serious when I say these things. The man has not once care about anything DEEP and PROFOUND, and as many have said he never, ever thinks many things through, and we can see that if you include his own LIFE, and if he can do disastrous things to himself and to his family, he surely would have no predilection to doing things that would affect this or any other nation in horrible ways. He's one of the worst pathological liars I've ever seen or read about. A tRump presidency would one of the worst things that could happen in the 21st century. We as Democrats and solid-thinking citizens have to work together to see it through to the end that his presidency does NOT happen.
