13-Year-Old Kills Himself and Leaves Heartbreaking Note After School ‘Does Nothing’ To Stop Bullies

Incredible, absolutely incredible! Schools/bullies should be held accountable for the death of this child!!!

New Yorker Daniel Fitzpatrick was a good-natured, 13-year-old kid who had been having a difficult time at school, thanks to merciless taunts by bullies.

Fitzpatrick killed himself, and was found by his older sister in the attic of the family’s home with a belt around his neck.

The note has, once again, brought bullying back into American discourse:

“I gave up,” he wrote.

“The teachers… they didn’t do ANYTHING.”
Fitzpatrick described the abuse he received by school bullies, which left him physically injured and emotionally demoralized.

WASHINGTON - It was only a matter of time before kids started picking up the aggressive, divisive language that’s become a hallmark of the 2016 presidential campaign.

According to a new report by the nonprofit Southern Poverty Law Center titled “The Trump Effect: The Impact of the Presidential Campaign on our Nation’s Schools,” the race is stoking fears and racial tensions in America’s classrooms.

“My students are terrified of Donald Trump. They think that if he’s elected, all black people will get sent back to Africa,” one middle school teacher told the SPLC. The teacher was one of more than 2,000 educators who opted to take a survey conducted through the SPLC’s “Teaching Tolerance” program.

“I have had Muslim students called terrorists,” said another teacher who submitted comments to the survey.

That is what my parents heard over and over again, even after my broken jaw in junior high. Only select teachers helped. The bullies well knew which ones wouldn't. The school administration did nothing.

I can't stand bullying.

I was bullied in 4th through 8th grade (catholic school). Reasons as if there had to be, I moved into this school October of 4th grade, I was smarter than almost every kid in my class,I didn't kowtow to the "neat kids" and even though I missed 3 weeks of school due to Scarlet Fever I still got all A's that quarter.

If I could take on every bully in every school and in every workforce, I would.

How my sister-in-law & brother took on a bully at my nephew's middle school. The bully was just an idiot with an IEP. The last straw was when he punched my nephew in the stomach, hard enough for him to fall onto the ground and retch. My brother and his wife went to the principal, who said he couldn't do anything because the kid had that "individual education plan". Not good enough of an answer for them. They filed charges against the kid with the local magistrate.

The magistrate found the kid guilty of assault, fined him $500 and told the kid, you don't have an IEP in my courtroom & if you go near (my nephew) or any other student ever again, you will find yourself in the county juvenile facility.

The bully never went near my nephew or another student while in this middle school.
