The whole Paul Manafort debacle is just beginning to unwind..even in his denials.. you can see the hole he (Manafort) is falling into and Trump is going with him.. they played footsie with the Russians and this is what they will get.. the Benedict Arnold award..

"The Hillary Clinton campaign has also responded to the report, saying the report raises questions about the Trump campaigns ties to Russia. Given the pro-Putin policy stances adopted by Donald Trump and the recent Russian government hacking and disclosure of Democratic Party records, Donald Trump has a responsibility to disclose campaign chair Paul Manaforts and all other campaign employees and advisers ties to Russia and pro-Kremlin entities"

(58,785 posts)ALSO many of the John Bircher-surfacing-as-TPer types who've always feared a secret infiltration and takeover by Russia, no matter how silly that is.
ALSO many from the end-times religious right who know that Satan's headquarters during Armageddon will be in Russia, no matter how...well, never mind.
This really isn't good for Trump. I'm curious to know if the others like Manafort working for his campaign were met strictly innocently or if any of the introductions to Trump were arranged by the Kremlin. After all, we know they're meddling in our internal politics and using Trump to do it.

(37,160 posts)The Elite and Exclusive Club Trump Membership Holders thrive on despising the people they like to despise, and ain't nothin' gonna rain on their parade. However, they don't have the numbers for him to win.
This, however, might finally sink him with the "I didn't vote for Trump in the primaries, but he won by the rules and I'm going to vote for my party's candidate because Hillary is a monster" set, the establishment types who've spent the past few decades using the foamers to get their tax cuts, deregulation, and "pro business" policies.

That was their favorite insult.
I think Bubba will NOT like this one bit.
I think he'll sink even further.

I should think that it would give older Trump supporters pause.
Well, if their sanity is still intact.

Better to leverage public opinion than governmental powers in this case.

(14,751 posts)The president has the ultimate power to classify/declassify anything, and literally has access to anything and everything. They can't disclose personal information with impunity since that is covered under existing law, but they can look at it.
But in a criminal investigation, they can use even nsa collected info, although it is unlikely to be used in court if it would compromise methods.

It's gonna create a much smaller mess when a 1/2 lb of shit hits the plastic. But it might knock it over and it will burn itself up.
Our culture has lost something else, it appears.
