True. Actually, though, I think his delivery is charming. Laffy Kat Aug 2016 #3

I love Larry Wilmore, I never warmed up to the show's format. Greybnk48 Aug 2016 #5

I also think he had a lot to live up to. Colbert was massive. Larry is a little more subdued.

I love Larry and most of the show but the show's bit/sketch material was not very good.
The cast he had was not "awesome."
The women on the show were fantastic but the guys, except for Mike Yard, were lacking in charisma.
The Daily Show was great because of their cast, still is, and TNS never jelled with their fake bits playing fake people.
Also it never helps when your show-runner (Rory) decides he'd rather be an on-air comic instead of focusing making a great show.
TDS worked because they sent the correspondents out into the real world.
TNS built a fake world within their studio and it didn't work.
I will miss this show but have a feeling Black-ish is about to get even better. (Wilmore's production company produces it)
But mostly I'm going to blame Rory for taking his eye off the ball.

And I hope you're right about LW getting another show. We need his voice and he's just a pleasure to watch, bringing up important issues without raising my blood pressure. I guess there is something about him that I find soothing. Gonna miss that man.
