it was Awe-inspiring

she stood up to the trump apologists, asking them actual follow up questions, deriding much of the BS trump spewed, and had several knowledgeable experts, including Peter Bergen, and some cnn regional reporter, almost all who just tore the speech to SHREDS

I could not believe what I was seeing. by far the best analysis of trump fol de rol I've seen

contrast that to Jake Tapper's show, right now, in which he has another reporter who is just citing his bullet points, totally credulously

but wait....she just mentioned the manafort story

let's see how this rolls out. I don't trust Tapper, for the most part. it'll be interesting to see how he handles this.

furthering the BS about the Times claiming he was PAID money. they did NOT say that, and Tapper stenographed manafort's "carefully worded statement"
that the Times lied about him receiving money

An acquaintance who worked on Capitol Hill,remarked about how these so called correspondents are just over paid Steno's. It's all about the Cocktail Circle,and most are just D.C. the Benghazi commission (EDIT...it was Mike Pompeo, one of the worst), and, after trying to slow him down with some charges of LIES told during trump's speech, just let him bowl her over with a fusillade of lies about the emails, troops that HILLARY should have sent to protect the victims....you know the drill.

7. That was quite unique in today's wretchedly nonconfrontational approach to journalism.

Back in the day, that was the norm. That's what viewers expected from reporters and newscasters. They were the public's voice and their job was to ask the questions we viewers would ask, they had to be a skeptical as their audience, as critical as we were.

Maybe, with the rise of Trump and his alternate views of history, the Fourth Estate will, at long last, find their spine.

9. jake is going to be VERY embarrassed when he takes a look at the

tapes of himself, vs. those of Brooke. he didn't hold a candle to her, especially during the panel, which was very short, and lacking in any depth or followup questions, with one very nice exception (not involving a panelist, actually)

he played a clip of the rabid vampire Giuliani making the claim that, during the 8 years of Bush, there were NO acts of radical Islamic terrorism committed on US soil. Jake actually laughed as he asked the Trump surrogate if Rudy, perhaps, was forgetting a rather large one that happened in September of 2001.

give him credit for that, at least

and Giuliani has absolutely no shame at all. he lies almost as vigorously and transparently as trump, and always gets away with it. just ask Martha Raddatz.

10. now tapper is doing a segment on October Surprise....and surprise,

he's interviewing assange on the demonization of Bernie, etc.

he actually asks him about the alleged Russian hacks to get those emails, and assange tries to explain it away by saying everybody does it, basically, then wanders off into trumpian rambling

now Assange is defending the hacks, citing the four DNC officials who got fired....who the fuck CARES about this?
