Missed photo opportunities.

Two days in a row I had photo opportunities and both days my camera was not within reach. Curses!

The first time I was coming from Lowes and saw a turtle in distress on the hot road. Someone was already coming out to save him so I just drove carefully past and that's when I saw that something was wrong with his shell. Looks like the top layer from two of his circle patterns were beginning to peel off. Made him look like he had wings. Anyone heard of such an affliction on a turtle?

The second opportunity involved a car in the parking lot. Definitely an anti-abortionist.

First Sticker said, "Abortion: what part of Thou shall not kill do you not understand!"

Second Sticker: Vietnam Vet.

Life and its many twists and turns.

As turtles grow, they shed the individual shields in their shells, called scutes, over time. Brickbat Aug 2016 #1

If it wasn't obviously injured, that's probably what you saw.

I wish the people who helped him across the road had dropped him off in the direction he was going. But, now that I know he wasn't injured I'm sure he could try again on his own.

that I travel there's one of those "double-stacked" billboards.
The top one has an ad for a gun and ammo shop.
The bottom one - "Life is precious - so is the unborn child"

Does anybody else see anything confusing here - or is it just me?

Was a paddle length away from a pair of loons. The dry box with my phone in it was behind me. What an idiot.

I saw a bobcat casually stroll through the turnstile.....I hurried up to try to catch a closer glimpse of her - I went through the turnstile and around the corner and she was just standing there a few feet in front of me.....I said AW YOU'RE A BEAUT....wait, why are you not running? Then I heard a couple of squeaks and looked behind me and about 20 feet back were a couple of bobcat cubs. Obviously I had inadvertently put myself between mama and babies. I said, THIS IS ME BACKING AWAY as I slowly backed up and then left.

Would have loved a picture of a bobcat that close.
