(22,048 posts)Please explain the connection between your link and the soldier who gave Donald Trump the Purple Heart.
Thanks.

(19,379 posts)Trump is a scammer, perhaps the most successful one in history, and apparently this individual in Seattle scammed his way into a Purple Heart and the VA benefits associated with it. As both men appear to have the same ethics it would be fitting that Trump receive a scammed medal from a fellow scammer. So it doesn't have anything to do with the soldier who apparently deserved his Purple Heart, but foolishly gave it to a man who has absolutely no concept of what that medal signifies.

(53,339 posts)Whether real or fraud, there is no way that that chickenhawk "deserves" a Purple Heart.

(15,064 posts)got one, with stolen treasury, is no different than Donald Trump sayin he always wanted one and basically gets one by conning a veteran into giving him one based on Trumps lies and deceit.

(15,064 posts)deem fit. It's sarcasm not reality. I have close relatives and friends who died for that freedom. Thank you for your service.

(53,339 posts)Many of us here at DU have been affected by war. I knew more than 60 guys who died in Vietnam, including a roommate who was MOH posthumous. And for some of those guys their posthumous Purple Heart was not their first award of the medal.
Suggesting that a chickenhawk like Trump "deserves" even a fraudulent Purple Heart is too far beyond the pale even for sarcasm. I know what my Heart cost me and what it cost too many friends from my war and wars since then.
Making a bad joke doesn't get a free pass by calling it "sarcasm."

(15,064 posts)for everyone on DU. You speak for yourself. You seem to insinuate that I have not had a similar experience as yours. Your definition of sarcasm is yours.

(53,339 posts)And if you got the impression that I was discounting or invalidating your experience that certainly was not my intention. As I mentioned, many here have been affected by wars.
I don't see any support here for your OP, and that should tell you something.
Regardless, we seem to share the same opinion of Trump generally, and specifically on his "easy" Purple Heart. So I see no point in arguing further about it. I've had my say and I have nothing to add.
