Anthony Weiner

I am so disappointed.

Anthony Weiner five years ago had so much promise. He was an influential democratic voice in the House. He wasn't afraid to challenge the republican majority. He demonstrated outrage. He had ideas. And he needlessly threw it away.

He thought his first fiasco could be forgotten in time. He entered the primary for mayor of NYC and he lost. He could have dedicated himself to other endeavors such as research and writing, assisting his wife with the HRC campaign, bringing up their son to be a stellar man. But he succumbed to the pedestrian urge to prove he was irresistible.

I'm not a prude. I am a realist. Anyone else with half a brain would get professional help, be sadder-but-wiser, and would seek redemption on a daily basis.

Now Anthony Weiner has lost a wife, a son, a home, a career, and likely a future. It's so much like a Greek tragedy but so much more common.

I hadn't heard that.

I find him repulsive in every way. If I looked like him I'd never take any selfies.

Ick. Shudder.

Weiner did more than sexting.

First, he lied with the "Here's a picture of my dick - oh, God, I've been hacked!" bit.

Then he went on shows, denying, when he could have just shut the fuck up - but instead, he asked people like Maddow, Stewart and liberal blogs to risk their credibility defending him.

And now, knowing he is being watched and knowing his wife's ties to Hillary, he decides to go sexting yet again with a woman who on her profile states she is a Trump supporter and fan of the NRA. Did he seriously think he wouldn't get caught again? He's willing to give the GOP ammunition, just so he can get a fucking hard-on.

Fuck this guy all the way to hell. He's a self-absorbed prick who doesn't give a shit about his family or his country.

I never liked him. I always though he was a show-off and nowhere near the progressive people billed him as. He's a total Likudnik when it comes to Israel-Palestine and downright racist toward Palestinians.

Now he can sext away to his heart's content, and finally have the career at Vivid Entertainment he always wanted.

Stellar

He really needs help and I send prayers to he and his family. It's a good thing that he's not running for President like that nut job Trump. He needs help too, but he and his followers don't know it.

he did nothing in congress but get out in front of the cameras and yell. He liked the glory of ~fighting for the people~ He was all bark and no bite, all talk no walk, and so on.

and how all the sadness and sympathy is juxtaposed with Grayson being a scumbag and an asshole and everything else.

They are both scumbags for what they did, but I'm always amazed when it's someone who even tangentially could reflect on the inner circle of the party power structure how the reactions are so different and so much more sympathetic.

He was not considered influential by his peers. In addition, the positions he took was opportunistic - going to the left when he found that got him on TV. Even before his scandal, though he had some accomplishments, he had a reputation that did not reflect well on him and supposedly had one of the highest staff turnover rates in the House.

He is clearly smart, hard working and capable, but he has so many personality flaws that make him a net negative.

He always made Hillary's employment of his wife risky and now this whole story is a distraction. Abedin should announce that she is leaving the campaign at her own initiative. There would be nothing to stop Clinton from appointing her to a job after she wins. Abedin needs to get her life in order for her own sake and that of her child's. A 24/7 campaign job doesn't seem compatible with that.

Is his named pronounced "weener", or is that just what the media insists on calling him? Fromthe spelling, I would guess it's "winer"

"Wiener" it would be pronounced "Weener" or "Veener". I'm pretty sure that's correct.

uses "weener" but they may be doing that purposely because they think it's so damn funner. I know the last time he did his thing and corrected a co-worker (and my co-worker from Germany backed me up) that it is "winer". I would think that someone would correct them, but maybe, as in the case of "democrat" party, people have gotten tired of trying.

Never felt he was "the future of the party" and was thankful he got exposed long before getting to the highest ranks of the party like John Edwards did.
