(34,582 posts)Our center has an exhibit on the female pilots of WWII. They couldn't fly combat, but they did fly those warplanes from the plants to the east coast, and from the US to the European theater

They served on the front lines, too.

(2,337 posts)The WASPs were not a military force when formed. They were not members of the US military. Once they were given that status, they all became eligible. You had a point?
