Both of my grandmothers work in factories turning out war material. Without women like them, the results would have been different. K&R

Our center has an exhibit on the female pilots of WWII. They couldn't fly combat, but they did fly those warplanes from the plants to the east coast, and from the US to the European theater

Of the Soviet "Night Witches". Theses women flew combat missions in WWII.

Everything I'm finding indicates (as I believed) that they were a continental US group, predominantly responsible for moving the aircraft from place to place around the country.

You're welcome to read up on them yourself.

All I'm seeing is an article mentioning some of them flew bombers across the atlantic to be dropped off at airbases there.

The WASPs were not a military force when formed. They were not members of the US military. Once they were given that status, they all became eligible. You had a point?
