This 'meme'/ Tweet is fundamentally wrong in so many ways.

Here is the tweet:

Wrong because it goes against everything Bernie stands for. I know he would not approve this message.

Wrong because the MORAN that made this little treasure has no clue about who Sir Patrick Stewart is and what he stands for. A truly juvenile attempt to disrespect Stewart, and his values. I bet they just wet themself laughing at how clever they were.

First and foremost Stewart is a British citizen and can never vote in our elections. Second he is a fierce advocate for women.

You May Think You Know Why Patrick Stewart Is An Amazing Man, But Here’s The Real Reason…

In addition to being an accomplished Shakespearean actor, a sci-fi legend, and a British knight, it turns out Sir Patrick Stewart is also an incredible human being. Stewart often takes the opportunity to speak about his own experiences growing up and why he is so dedicated to the cause of stopping domestic violence. “The people who could do most to improve the situation of so many women and children are in fact men. It’s in our hands to stop violence towards women. I do what I do in my mother’s name because I couldn’t help her then. Now I can.”

When it comes to ending violence against women, Patrick Stewart has a very personal story about why we should “make it so.”

As a child I heard in my home doctors and ambulance men say,’Mrs Stewart, you must have done something to provoke him. Mrs Stewart, it takes two to make an argument.’ Wrong. Wrong. My mother did nothing to provoke that and even if she had, violence is never, ever a choice that a man should make. Ever.

In truth, domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women, doing more damage than car accidents, muggings and rapes combined. One in four women will be the victims of it; nearly three in four people will personally know someone who is. Thirty percent of women who are murdered are killed by their partners. And, hardly a side note, 50% of men who frequently assault their wives also frequently assault their children. Help raise awareness by sharing Patrick Stewart’s story and his awesomeness.

Stewart and Sanders have nothing what so ever in common with Trump, nothing at all.

To intimate that either of these men would just sit back and watch Trump burn down the world out of revenge for a lost election is pathetic.

And then promptly lost their fucking minds.

And that attitude of "watch it all burn?" Granted, I appreciate the cynicism. But that's because I've got the LUXURY.

As my wise wife pointed out to me: "We're going to be all right if Trump wins. We probably won't even notice. We're white, middle-class professionals with secure jobs. We need to beat this motherfucker for all of the OTHER Americans out there, the ones who won't be okay under President Trump.

I'm gonna go be grumpy now.

Whoever posted that piece of excrement should be banned from ever communicating online again.

He is a wonderful man. He spent years defending his mom. One thing I read, he stated that he got really good at knowing the exact moment to enter the room and stand between his mom and his dads fist. No child should ever have to go through that. He did his best to stand for his mom. He stands for all women now.

I love to see someone successful like Patrick Stewart pay it forward. Too many just live their lives according to their needs and desires and could care less about anyone else.

Mr. Stewart will be able to continue draw much needed attention and money to reduce the horrible abuse that families suffer from domestic violence.

As a clerk for a Family Law judge, I saw so much real drama, a slice of American life on display, and not usually anything good. I recall one mother, who had obviously been in front of my judge many times before, telling the court that before she and her husband started coming to court they thought all families lived like theirs, beating each other and the kids. Her father had burst her sister's eardrums rendering her deaf by boxing both of her ears at the same time. The mother speaking had been shot and stabbed by her father, who eventually murdered his wife, her mother.

We must find ways to break the cycle, which starts with identifying kids of abusive homes, getting them out of the abusive situation, and teaching them what a normal (non-violent) relationship is like.

He stands for that as well.

Here is a clip, back when we were trying to pass VAWA and Repukes were stonewalling.

Sir Patrick Stewart calls on ’1 million men’ to end to violence against women

NEW YORK—Sir Patrick Stewart stood in the center of the Diplomat Ballroom at the UN Hotel here on Friday, pounding his fist methodically against a podium, each thump punctuated with a number ("One ... two ... three ...&quot until he got to nine.

"Every nine seconds in the United States a woman is assaulted or beaten," Stewart said. "Every nine seconds."

The 72-year-old British-born actor, best known for his roles in "X-Men" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation," served as host for the launch of "Ring the Bell," a global campaign calling on 1 million men to make 1 million "concrete, actionable promises" to end violence against women.

"Violence against women is the single greatest human rights violation of our generation," Stewart said.

"This is a call to action—not an action that will make things better in six months' time or a year's time," he continued, "but action that might save someone's life and someone's future this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow morning."

We do talk about it here, or try to. Then and now those posts on VAWA sink.

the TV show Who Do You Think You Are? It's on YouTube, though you may have to see it in 5-minute pieces. His early childhood was horrific (WW II) and the years after it weren't much better (domestic violence and poverty), but he came through it with the determination to work for those who aren't strong enough to fight for themselves.
