It's looking more and more like there may an "October surprise" in this upcoming election. Who knows if the NYTimes or the Washington Post are sitting on a story and waiting for the appropriate time to drop it? There are still outstanding questions on both candidates.
Will there be a new bombshell in the Clinton emails? Or is there a smoking gun in the files of the Clinton Global Initiative?
Or are there more questions about Donald Trump's tax returns? Or his connections to Chinese and Russian banks? Does he owe them hundreds of millions of dollars?
I will not be surprised to see an "October surprise".

(9,148 posts)Why the damning statement without the full context?
A link would be helpful. Otherwise your post sounds like a serious attack on the Dem Candidate here in DU.
Thanks

(13,218 posts)We usually have a snarky tone to go with an ironic remark (the visual equivalent is the SARCASM icon). But not always. Sometimes we deliver a sarcastic statement deadpan (when, for example, it's really, really obvious).

(9,148 posts)..being a "joke" was made.
Its a non issue with no reason to continue .
So why the need to discuss a non issue. ?
There are far greater subjects to discuss today. Like the well deserved beating Cannova is about to take in Fl.
The usurper will lose for running a crappy campaign based on spite & revenge.
Even Sen Sanders couldn't find a reason to campaign for him.
Says it all.
Have fun!

Use a gif or a quick LOL.
otherwise it may indeed be taken serious.
I would have appreciated that. Rather than be mocked with a "fool joke gif".
Holy fuck..

(37,748 posts)Then a sarcasm gif to the OP may be in order... as a Trump October surprise is little more than a joke itself.

Believe it or not - people fall for it.
Although - I think about a week/week and a half ago one of the worst offenders got taken down.

Sometimes conspiracy theories are true.

(111,110 posts)You can call it a conspiracy theory if you like.
Are you suggesting they would never sit on a story?
(on edit) Another suggestion I would make is to look out for what might come out from FBI Director Comey?

(36,063 posts)I suppose what we don't know in August, could surprise us in Oct.
And I suppose there is a need to have a discussion of what we know we don't know, so that we can know how we should act when we find out we know.
But even knowing that, it seems that a surprise would require us to not know what we will know until we know it.
Ya, know?

(53,918 posts)video funded by shady characters here (Gellar comes to mind) and Romney was waiting in the wings to exploit it.
It didn't work as the Benghazi incident which happened almost simultaneously, overshadowed it.
The repugs have milked that cow though forever.
I hope the Dems are holding something in reserve too to spring on Trump and his sleazy staff. They're not the only ones who can play that game. And there's so much on Trump it doesn't have to be concocted, made-up stuff like what the repugs traffic in.

Will there be a surprise? One of the reasons candidates do op research is to do the surprise. So, there usually are a few of them. Will they be game changing bombshells?NO, emphatically. Game changers are dropped earlier so they have time to take effect.
