1. I think the scariest part about all of that...

is that these people want to hand the reins of all these "armed terrorist governmental agencies" over to an asshole like Trump.

4. It took me a while

But a long time rw friend used to send me the same thing. I didn't respond back all the time but probably over half of them I did. Some of them are too long to go through all the fake stuff. So on those I'd pick a few points and hit them asking if he understood how easy it was to figure out he was believing in and pushing lies. One of the emails had something about armored hummers being sent to Universities. Checked on that. It was for them to look at improving the armor so our soldiers weren't being killed by ied's. I asked him if he really wanted out military heroes to die.

I think he sent me that stupid birther letter about 5 times with slight modifications in it as it morph'ed. It took all 5 times telling him John Wayne's daughter has said she didn't write or have anything to do with it. And it isn't a way to honor someone using his name to spread lies. But I'll probably still get the same stupid email next year.

5. I have a friend just like that.

He was my best man in 1969.
We flew together in the air guard and at TWA and NCA.
It wasn't until he came to live a few blocks away (at my urging) that I learned that he really isn't real bright.
Not when it comes to politics, anyway.

6. Last time I talked to him

He bought ? cases with 5,000 brass cases for reloading. He's really a good guy and I know him enough that he doesn't get ticked off so not worried about him doing anything. Doesn't do those stupid open carry protests etc. Really he doesn't agree with the open carry law here in Texas. He was a union hand and I keep asking him why he votes repub. Since they say he was the problem with America. Did he really think he was evil like the repub's keep pushing? Not a bright one either.

had dinner with a airline pilot last week (friend of someone I know) who said Obama was a major drug dealer in college, and that both his daughters are addicts

This guy has a degree in electrical engineering, so he's not stupid.
He was a captain for many years with TWA and then NCA (Nippon Cargo).
FAA rated instructor pilot, check pilot, and test pilot.

He's 76 and born and raised in Tuscaloosa, so that might tell you something.

8. my uncle sent me the very silly email chain about the posh new prison Obama had built near Chicago

This nonsense went on and on about coddling the felons, etc. It took 2 minutes to look it up and see that it was a prison built in Austria, indeed based on the idea of humane treatment of ... nonviolent criminals. Sent this info back to him, never got another email. Oh well, love my uncle, but with him it's like the documentary about how Fox news changed her father.
