World War Loo: Roll of Nazi toilet paper given to Adolf Hitler's troops goes on sale

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3774740/World-War-Loo-Roll-Nazi-toilet-paper-given-Adolf-Hitler-s-troops-goes-sale.html

A roll of Nazi toilet paper that was given to Hitler's troops during the Second World War is set to go under the hammer at auction.

The unopened roll of the Edelweiss brand Klosettpapier has been given a guide price of £100 when it is sold of at Whyte's Auction House in Dublin later this month.

The lot is described as being in a 'remarkably unused condition' and was the standard issue toilet paper given out by the Third Reich, who said it was a 'wartime luxury'.

The brand of the toilet paper appears to have been named after the alpine flower Edelweiss, which also inspired a marching song Es war ein Edelweiss, popular with German troops during the war.

There's probably little value for the product except when in "remarkably unused condition" struggle4progress Sep 2016 #3

I always wonder the story behind the individual item, especially when it's something perishable or expendable. "Shit tickets" are notoriously hard to come by in a war zone, so I can only assume this was lost during the war, then rediscovered sometime later.

Hitler had wiped his ass with it or blown his nose into it. Some neo-nazi would probably give his last nickel for it.

Such advertising though; "vorteilhaft" has twelve meanings and one of them is "beneficial." Beneficial compared to what, walking around mit scheisse beklebt am arsch?
