that our current leaders are ignoring them and they are not happy about it. I find this not believable.

(1,771 posts)President Obama decides which briefings the Candidates receive. Seems like a good reason for Obama to cut him off.
My biggest fear? That the Orange Wonder will compromise a covert operation and risk the lives of people.

(34,582 posts)once the winner is named, they get the briefings. Two months is enough time to get spun up.

(111,103 posts)Ones that are willing to follow orders. If Herr Trump says there will be martial law, none of "his" generals would disagree with him. The others would be "enemies" of the state. Perfect plan.

(70,708 posts)"What are the military briefers unhappy with President OBAMA about?!1"
The real question is, why are military getting into political opinions?!1
davidn3600
(6,342 posts)They have political opinions just as everyone here does. They have some restrictions about voicing those opinions publicly, but they have opinions.
You do understand that active military personnel have a right to vote, right?
UTUSN
(70,708 posts)Since I *was* active military personnel at one time, I also know that we were strictly enjoined to keep politics to ourselves. I also know that our voting, whether civilian or military, is a matter of personal privacy, and that personnel in their government function/role are supposed to keep their personal opinions separate from their roles. Especially in this context of "briefings". Thanks again.

(1,370 posts)The real question is why would anyone believe a single thing Trump says!!!!!
I almost put that in all caps...
This is clearly a lie or a crime.

(3,003 posts)In broad terms, leaders would include the people in Congress who have control over funding - You know, the Congress who forced em to take a bunch of tanks that they said countless times they had no use for?

I wouldn't doubt that they said this, though the truth behind it is hardly the implication that Trump wants it to be.

(236 posts)I think he made a huge mistake that will backfire in a major way.
Anyone who is asked about this will unequivocally state that is is untrue. Trump will look end up looking like a complete fool.

major debacle
(508 posts)... but he has lost the confidence of those who confided in him.
The resentment for this breach of confidence will be YUUUUGE!

(236 posts)However, I don't think this actually happened anywhere but in his own head.
major debacle
(508 posts)There are 88 retired generals and admirals who have gone on record as endorsing Trump. Apparently, their high rank is not proof against bad judgment. I can see some of them unburdening themselves to Trump for what they see as personal slights by the Obama administration.
