Question for you, Mr. Trump
When he was running for President in 2008 John McCain routinely stated that he knew how to capture Bin Laden, and that he would implement that plan once elected. It rather felt like he was holding that positive outcome hostage, to be brought into daylight only if we paid the ransom in votes. Some of us thought that he should prove his much vaunted patriotism by taking that surefire plan to those who could act on it, regardless of who was in the Oval Office, because such action would be very real demonstration of the Country First attitude which informed his campaign slogan.
Now, Donald Trump is playing the same game with regard to dealing with ISIS. To be sure, unlike McCain, there is NOTHING in Trumps personal history that even hints at the merest modicum of patriotism; he has zero experience with professional international intelligence, hes never served in any military capacity, there is an appalling absence of veterans organizations testifying to his generous support, he has a very public record of using veterans as photo-op props, and yet he claims to know more about ISIS than the generals. And, like McCain, he has a guaranteed plan that will be put to work only upon his election.
Question for you, Mr. Trump: How well did that work for McCain?
