War has become the acceptable and the norm.

It is depressing. We are a militaristic society that cannot wait for the next war. Our leaders talk about putting "boots on the ground" in yet another country. How much better would this world be today if George W Bush had not invaded Iraq? The butterfly flapped its wings in the Middle East and a hurricane happened in American politics.

Not sure who said that. It's been attributed to a few people.

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade waiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way.

I did some research on this once..I wish I could give a source but I recall reading that there has been some kind of war going on somewhere on earth..every 3 years.. (a different one).. since before the birth of Christ..

I think we are at much the same situation as are those thinking that abductions or crime against children has massively increased in the last couple of generations. It's difficult to distinguish between the frequency of occurrence and the frequency of information dissemination.
