If you've never watched Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil or visited Savannah and realized what a powerhouse dame she was, you might not know who The Doll was. But she was a fabulous light in a movie otherwise most noteworthy for having a speech coach who should have been slow roasted. I adored her.
RIP to The Doll. You were the real deal.

Fuck you, 2016.
Well, except for Scalia and Schlafly.

(82 posts)Tampa in 2002 for Gay Pride accompanied by Tammy Faye Baker. Both ladies were gracious and charming. Lady Chablis was about the same size as Tammy Faye, which is to say Lilliputian at best. She was so charming and a classy Lady. So young to lose a crusader in our world where class and charm are in short supply.
I provided floral arrangements for their rooms and their cocktail parties and Lady Chablis sent me a lovely thank you note with an autographed photo. Tammy Faye didn't. . .
