Spread The Word: Hillary's Paid Leave is Better Than Trump's

Guarantee up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave to care for a new child or a seriously ill family member, and up to 12 weeks of medical leave to recover from a serious illness or injury of their own.

Ensure hardworking Americans get at least two-thirds of their current wages, up to a ceiling, while on leave.

Impose no additional costs on businesses, including small businesses.

Fund paid leave by making the wealthy pay their fair share—not by increasing taxes on working families. Hillary will pay for her paid leave plan with tax reforms that will ensure the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share.

It doesn't matter whether a presidential candidate has a detailed plan for some kind of proposed legislation. On stuff like that, it matters to the extent of "I would sign something like X or Y", but it is pretty odd that we run these things as if we are electing some kind of emperor who will rule by decree.

What the president can do is to set an agenda - to some extent - and indicate what kinds of policies they support or oppose, in relation to things that would require Congress to pass a suitable bill.

Absent a majority in Congress that would actually pass EITHER proposal, then it's just blather.

One thing the president can do without anyone's approval is launch nukes. On that score, this is a pretty simple election to figure out.

In 2008, did Obama run on the notion of "In my first several months of office, I will deal with a massive meltdown of the economy"? No. Is that what he had to do? Yes. Did he do a good job of it despite massive opposition? Yes.

The character of the candidate matters more than these kinds of things, since there is simply no predicting what the next president might have to handle.

However, presidents can push for certain legislation.

Otherwise, how would we have "Obamacare?"

Trump's plan is in the form of a tax deduction on your federal return. That will not cover the cost of childcare for the working poor or middle class, they don't have enough income/federal income tax to cover the cost of childcare. Hillary's plan is in the form of a credit, not a deduction.

is that whether it's worse or better is moot: it's bullshit just like at least 77% of what comes out of his mouth. he is simply lying.

Having well spoken and photogenic Clinton operatives and campaign spokespeople on tv at every possible opportunity, saying that same thing in simple and concise terms.

I'm dumbfounded as to why is that not happening?

Why is Kellyanne Conway out there on every single show hammering their talking points and messages, but I'm seeing nobody from the Clinton campaign doing the same thing?

We should have a face in front of every camera at every minute of the day. Yet we don't.

I'm assuming that HRC has a large, highly paid staff does she not?

...but if that's the case then the solution wouldn't be to throw up the campaigns arm and shrug shoulders. It would be to get less boring people available.

Hell at this point where are Carville and Begala? I don't always like or agree with either of them, but hell they can play interesting media attack dogs with the rest of them.

Doing nothing isn't an option and just asking voters to talk to friends and family isn't a campaign strategy.

Either Hillary Clinton, or Robby Mook needs to get her surrogates on TV talking about her policies. This morning, she should have had people on every morning show telling everyone that Donald Trump was lying when he claimed he did not have a paid family leave policy. They also should pushed back on the idea that she is running a hate filled policy free campaign. The morning show would have been a great time for her surrogates to talk about her policies and give out her campaign website, especially the issues page.
